News for Friday, June 30th, 2017 (amended)

(note: the parenthesized paragraph with two asterisks was edited for clarity)
  • The sports segment for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the twenty-eighth day of this June had an animated sequence not normally used in its broadcasts in recent times (it was presented by a member of their local news operation who had joined the operation earlier this June (Robby Baker) involving the voice of an announcer often used in providing new announcements for their programming in recent times (Jeff Davis) rather the one who provided the introduction for all of their local news programs and some announcements for some advertisements of theirs before him (Jay Gardner).
  • The hosts of a local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles (Chasity Byrd and Joe Emer of "Studio 10") that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this past Wednesday had said two other members of the local news operation for WALA-TV (a news presenter named Lenise Ligon and a news reporter named Alexa Knowles) were to appear on the program as part of a contest for the program named "Dale's Seasoning Cook-off Challenge" in addition to the one it had in its installment for that Wednesday (a news reporter named Hal Scheurich).*
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of  5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Thursday on the twenty-ninth day of this June ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.", "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.", and "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m." respectively) each had a video about what a member of their local news operation (a news reporter and a news presenter named Renee Dials) had planned on doing after retiring from the operation by this Friday.**
  • The sports segment for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this past Thursday ("WKRG News 5 at 6") had what appeared to be a recording of the reporter mentioned in the first paragraph from the top of this report attempting to make contact with a professional basketball player (named Jimmy Butler) for a report about the player telling a group of folks at a news conference how to contact him by telephone.***
(*the one named Joe Emer said the Wednesday for this installment of the program was the "first of three Wednesdays in a row" to have one of those members)
(**when the video appeared on the program for the hour of 5:00 p.m., the narration for it had an incorrect calendar year for when the member had joined the operation (1997 instead of 1977); when it appeared on the other programs, the narration had the correct calendar year in place of it (a recording of the video with the correct calendar year on the program for the hour of 9:00 p.m. was uploaded onto a site attributed to WALA-TV by the end of the day))

(***the reporter had asked whether the telephone number was legitimate or not while on the set of the program near the end of the segment)
