News for Sunday, June 11th, 2017

  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the evening hours of this past Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 6 [p.m.]" and "WKRG News 5 at 10 [p.m.]") had video of some members of their local news operation and a law firm based in their local broadcast area (Greene & Phillips) involved in an event concerning bicycle helmets and rules on how to ride bicycles in a safe manner.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the evening hours of the Saturday of the tenth day of this June ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had some music not usually audible in their local news programming in recent times precede and succeed reports about a professional actor (named Adam West) having died on the Friday of the ninth day of June (the music sounded like piano tunes).*
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Sunday ("Local 15 News at 5 p.m.") had video of a member of their holding (or "parent") company (Boris Epshteyn of the Sinclair Broadcast Group) commenting about a former member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (named James Comey) testifying to members of the Senate of the United States this past Thursday on the eighth day of this June.
(*the first time the music was audible was when the news presenter for the program (Devan Coffaro) was doing a "teaser" for the report before a break; the second time it was audible was when she was doing a "teaser" for a weather report for the program before another break)
