News for Sunday, June 18th, 2017

  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV and WALA-TV during the evening hours of the Saturday of the seventeenth day of this June had reports about some members of their respective news operations being honored at an awards ceremony by the Alabama Associated Press Media Editors earlier that day.*
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this past Saturday on the seventeenth day of this June ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m." and "FOX 10 News at 7:00 a.m.") had guests of theirs wearing headphones and holding microphones with logos for their broadcast operation while being interviewed by their news presenter (Asha Staples**).
  • A Facebook page and a Twitter page attributed to a syndicated news program that used to be available to WFNA-TV from Monday through Friday ("The Daily Buzz") each had a message dated for the Monday of the twenty-second day of May for this calendar year about a plan to make it available to broadcasters like them for the for time since the Friday of the seventeenth day of April of the calendar year 2015 this Sunday (on a weekly basis).***
(*the programs on the channel for WKRG-TV had proper names ("WKRG News 5 at 6" and "WKRG News 5 at 10") whereas the one that appeared on the channel for WALA-TV did not (a generic name ("FOX 10 News") was used in reference to it by its news presenter (Steve Alexander Ozenovich**) due its appearance on the channel being in a time period not normally used for their local news programming since the channel had special programming from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) during its regular time period for having local news programming on Saturday in recent times (the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m.)

(**they were usually news reporters for their local news operation)

(***a news release dated for the Tuesday of the second day of May for this calendar week had the fourth day of this June as the day of its return to broadcasting before the one dated for the Saturday of the tenth day of this June had the Sunday of the eighteenth day of this June as the day of its return to broadcasting)
