News for Friday, August 25th, 2017

  • This weblog had a article about one of the sports reporters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Randy Patrick Setterstrom) using some of their local news programming to promote a plan for one of their local news programs ("WKRG News 5 at 10 [p.m.]") to have a new "show" dedicated to football in their local broadcast area ten minutes after the beginning of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Friday before some of the local news programming it had before then earlier this Friday had him saying this particular program would have it at either "10:13" (or "ten thirteen") or sometime later this Friday due to a plan for their main broadcast channel to have special programming (about a professional football game) from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) during the hours of 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. this Friday and the possibility of it not ending before 10:00 p.m. this Friday (the channel eventually started having the program with the "show" between thirteen and twenty minutes after the beginning of the hour of 10:00 p.m.).
  • A Twitter page attributed to a news presenter for one of the local radio programs at WAVH-FM (Kelly Jones for "Mobile Mornings") had a message attributed to her dated for the Thursday of the twenty-fourth day of this August about her and its hosts (Sean Sullivan and Dalton) participating in the exhibition mentioned in the previous paragraph along with some images related to the message whereas a Facebook page about their broadcast operation had the same message and images in addition to other images related to them and a Facebook page attributed to her had all of the images except for the message.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the twenty-fourth day of this August ( "WKRG News 5 at 5") had one of its news presenters (Peter Albrecht) talking about their selves and their companion station (WFNA-TV) being part of the exhibition mentioned in the last two paragraphs after presenting a report about it.
(*both WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV and both WZEW-FM and WNSP-FM were members of separate companies (the Nexstar Media Group and Dot Com Plus respectively))

(**a Facebook page attributed to WALA-TV appeared to have live video of a member of their local news operation (Kati Weis) talking about having a report about the lawsuit on the program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 5:00 p.m.)
