News for Sunday, August 13th, 2017 (amended)

  • The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV had a theatrical movie named "Ghostbusters" both last Sunday (the sixth day of this August (during the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.)) and this Sunday (during the second half of the hour of 1:00 p.m. and the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.).
  • An update to a profile of a Facebook page attributed to WZEW-FM dating back to the fourth day of this August involved what appeared to be a new logo for promoting their broadcast operation (note: some messages on the page attributed to its administrating dated for the Tuesday of the eighth day of this August and the Thursday of the tenth day of this August were posted with images of the logo normally used for promoting their broadcast operation before the one used in that update**).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had one of the sports reporters for their local news operation (Robby Baker) telling the news presenter for the program (Ashley Knight) that a "crazy day of golf" caused them to be "bumped off the air" that Saturday (the channel had special programming (from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) about a golf tournament during one of its regular time periods for having local news programming on Saturday in recent times (the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m.)).
(*the channel was usually set to have the program from the beginning of the hour until no later than one minute after the beginning of the second half of it on Sunday in recent times (it had the program later than usual this Sunday due to some special programming (from their main provider of network programming) it had earlier that day (it was about the golf tournament mentioned in the third paragraph from the top of this report)
(**a World Wide Web site attributed to their broadcast operation still had images of the logo normally used for promoting their broadcast operation before that update)
