News for Monday, August 14th, 2017

(note: the second paragraph of the report titled "News for Sunday, August 13th, 2017" was amended with additional information (it was about the time period in which a local TV news program was broadcast that day)) 
  • A Facebook page attributed to a news reporter for the local news operation at WPMI-TV named Christian Jennings had a message attributed to her dated for the Friday of the eleventh day of this August about a new advertisement for their local news operation along with video of the advertisement itself (the message and video were shared with a Facebook page attributed to WPMI-TV afterwards). 
  • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV and an Internet video stream normally used for their local news programs in recent times had a special program about what appeared to had been a live debate involving candidates for the position of mayor of city of Mobile in southwest Alabama* during the hour of 6:00 p.m. this Monday (a Facebook page attributed to WKRG-TV had video of about half of the program (with captions) before having video one of the news reporters for their local news operation (Joseph Blake (J. B.) Biunno) talking about the program (such as audio problems in its broadcast) and appearing to respond to comments about it from its audience during a break in its broadcast having video of him talking about "technical problems" preventing them from having the second half of the program on the page**). 
  • A Facebook page attributed to WKRG-TV had a recording of what appeared to had been live video of some members of their local news operation (a news presenter and news reporter named Ashley Knight, a weather reporter named Thomas Geboy, and a sports reporter named Robby Baker) talking about news, weather, and sports during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. for the Saturday of the twelfth day of this August along with a message about the main broadcast channel for their broadcast operation not having a local news program during the first half of that hour in accordance with their regular programming plan for Saturday in recent times (note: the channel had special programming (from their main provider of network programming: the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) about a tournament of golf during that time period.
(*only two of the candidates for the position were part of the debate (William Sandys (Sandy) Stimpson (its current holder) and Samuel (Sam) Jones (its most previous holder)***)

(**a recording of both halves of the program (with advertisements between them) was uploaded onto a World Wide Web site attributed to WKRG-TV)

(***the names of the candidates who were not part of the debate were Anthony Leonard Thompson and Donavette Ely).
