News for Saturday, February 17th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the fourteenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had and its weather reporter (Alan Sealls) saying, "Fifteen degrees milder than typical--which sort of offsets January; too bad you don't get a rebate off your utility bill". 
  • The last part of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Bob Grip) saying, "Today is Lenise's birthday" and its other news presenter (Lenise Ligon) reacting to what he appeared to had said beside him.
  • A Facebook page attributed to WKRG-TV appeared to have had a message attributed to its administration dated for the Wednesday of the fourteenth day of this February concerning "valentines" with their being described as being "last-minute valentines" and some images involving a logo for WKRG-TV and various members of the news operation at WKRG-TV  (each of them had text of "to:" and "from:"). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifteenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30") appeared to have had audio of one of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven) saying, "Ok we're having some technical difficulties; wondering if we could go to a break and come back?" before one of its breaks from appearing on the channel in that period of time that day.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifteenth day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have audio of one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Bri MacNaught) saying, "[And] the best news yet: you can watch the big race right here on FOX 10 News. Coverage starts at ten a.m. Sunday morning; race is set to start at two p.m. Central time" for one of its reports.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifteenth day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had of one of its reporters (a news reporter named Lee Peck) saying, "This is one of those stories especially after this week that reminds you that there are still good people out there doing good things" immediately before having a video of a certain report and one of its other reporters (a weather reporter named Jason Smith) saying the phrase "going downhill" in a report involving the words "fog" and "visibilities".
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifteenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven) using words such as "powerful", "horrific", "deadly", and "disturbed", and "reliable" to describe some of its subjects (examples: "This is what the powerful candle-light vigil looks like from the air", "The names and stories of those killed in the horrific and deadly school shooting rampage in Florida are starting to emerge. We're also learning about acts of heroism and learning more about the disturbed young man who committed the horrific act", and "How you could purchase a reliable system without breaking the bank").
