News for Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

  • The first part of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the thirtieth day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") had audio of one of its news presenters (Bob Grip) presenting reports involving relatives of his (including one whom he had called his wife and two of whom he had called his daughters). 
  • A Facebook page attributed to WPMI-TV appeared to have had messages (including one message that was hidden after the other one was posted) attributed to its administration dated for the Tuesday of the thirtieth day of this January with hyperlinks to an article also dated for that Tuesday named "NBC 15 Technical Problems" on a World Wide Web site attributed to WPMI-TV (note: "NBC 15" was often used in reference to the news operation at WPMI-TV and the broadcast operation at WPMI-TV in general in recent times).  
  • A local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. on the Tuesday of the thirtieth day of this January ("Studio 10") occasionally had video of a group of persons appearing to witness the program (they were usually described as either "the kids from Perdido" or "the kiddos from Perdido" by one of its hosts (Joe Emer for the first description mentioned; Chasity Byrd for the second description mentioned)) (note: it usually did not appear to have such a group in previous installments of it in recent times)
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the thirtieth day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to have had its news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, We [go] live to WKRG's Washington D. C. correspondent Mark Meredith" before having video of a reporter with digital graphics involving texts of "Mark Meredith" and"WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT" immediately afterwards before having audio of the news presenter saying, "Thank you, Mark" immediately after having video of the reporter.   
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the second half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twenty-seventh day of this January ("NBC 15 News [at 5]") appeared to have had its news presenter (Zora Ethel Asberry) presenting a report of a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service named the Tennis Channel being "owned" by the holding company for their own broadcast operation (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) after presenting a separate report related to service (note: she had actually referred to this company as their "parent company" while presenting this report).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the twenty-fourth day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had audio of its news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, "All right, well a crazy story out of the middle east, John, where a dozen camels were disqualified from a camel beauty contest because their owner injected them with Botox", its weather reporter (John Nodar) saying, "No way" immediately after afterwards before laughing, the news presenter saying, "In Saudi Arabia. I'm not making this up. Yeah, the owner wanted to make them more handsome", the weather reporter saying, "All right, now apparently there's a lot on the line in this beauty contest - you've got races and competitions -- and check this out: the combined purses for all of those courses in the camel beauty contest: fifty-seven million dollars" afterwards, the news presenter saying, "That's insane! We need to get camel over in the contest. Wow" afterwards, the weather reporter saying, "That's right, Botox--" afterwards, and the news presenter laughing before saying, "Thanks for joining us. See you at five" afterwards.
