News for Wednesday, February 14th, 2018

  • A YouTube channel related to WKRG-TV appeared to have had recordings of the local news programs they had on their main broadcast channel during the first halves of the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the tenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 6" and "WKRG News 5 at 10" respectively). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the tenth day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had certain videos of certain reports (one involving a certain "surprise squad", one involving an "investigation", and one involving information related to a certain disease) that were part of some previous installments of it that were part on the channel during the same hour earlier in the calendar week for that Saturday.   
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of the ninth day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (Alexa Knowles) using the words "sounds" and "crazy" together in a discussion with one of its news presenters (Lenise Ligon) (this is what the reporter appeared to had said after the news presenter appeared to had said, "Alexa, targeting police officers": "Yeah, Lenise, sounds crazy, but that's the allegation Mobile police chief Lawrence Baptiste says investigators are still trying to figure out how many officers were targeted, but they have confirmed [that] it happened at least two times").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of the ninth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a news reporter named Mary Smith) saying, "As you can see, it's a complete ghost town here at the academy tonight, but that was not the case last night when there was a basketball game as you're about to see some people attending that game weren't too happy with the outcome" before having a video of a report involving the words, "It was a fun night of basketball between Vigor and Faith Academy Thursday night. The game ended with a win by faith, players peacefully shaking hands, even this guy waving in front of the camera, then in a matter of seconds chaos breaks out. A full-own brawl breaks out on the court" immediately after wards. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the eleventh day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had audio of one of its news presenters (Lee Peck) saying, "Well these pictures may not look like the ones you post on Facebook, but they are record breakers. NASA released the images; the machine that took them was one of seven instruments aboard the New Horizons spacecraft that reached Pluto back in two thousand fifteen; that means the instrument was farther from Earth than any other functioning camera in existence breaking a record that nearly stood for three decades" immediately presenting a report related to a certain entity named "Facebook" (this is what he was saying regarding that entity: "Facebook is testing out a down vote button according to multiple news reports. TechCrunch says Facebook is testing the button on five percent of Android users here in the USA. It reports Facebook says this is not the long-clamored-for dislike button, instead users can signal to Facebook a comment they believe is offensive, misleading, or off topic. Down voting was made popular by Reddit. In response to news of Facebook's test of down voting, Reddit co-founder Alexis O'Hannigan tweeted quote, 'Sincerest form of flattery; wish I'd trademarked it: an up vote when we came up with it").
