News for Sunday, February 18th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of the February ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Bob Grip) saying, "And this nasty flu-season, which has been getting worse and worse for months, may finally be leveling off" immediately after one of its breaks from appearing on the channel in that period of time that day.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of the February ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had audio of one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Bri MacNaught) saying, "And that wrestling event, benefiting -- oh my gosh, I cannot speak...three, two, one...and that wrestling event benefiting Haili is set for March 17th at the Semmes Community Center").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to have had its news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, "While 'Black Panther' is expected to smash box-office records this weekend--it's going to be a great movie to go out and see--studios are very excited as well as audiences, Rick Damigella has a preview of three of the biggest in our Hollywood minute" before having a certain video of a certain report related to what she was saying.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of this February appeared to have had live videos of one of its reporters (a news reporter named Joseph Blake (J. B.) Biunno) doing reports related to a certain movie (named "Black Panther") near the exterior of a certain building (the reporter had referred to it as a "theater" in at one of those reports) and one of the news presenters for the program (Peter Albrecht) appearing to say, "What happens when you combine bricks and bone-headed crooks? Well take a look" and its other news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, "You get a break-in attempt gone hilariously wrong"
  • The last part of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the fourteenth day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to have had its news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, "All right, well, if you haven't all ready noticed, many of our WKRG team members are wearing red today and we're also wearing these lapel pins in honor of Children's of Alabama; we want to raise awareness for children born with congenital heart issues -- and John, a lot of people just don't realize that heart defects are the most common type of birth defect and most of those kids are treated at Children's of Alabama", and its weather reporter (John Nodar) saying, "And we're lucky to have that organization with us here in Alabama and congratulations to all of you" immediately afterwards before having her saying, "We'll see you at five" immediately afterwards near the end of it (note #1: the last part of the local news program that appeared on the channel during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. that Wednesday ("WKRG News 5 at 5") appeared to have the same news presenter presenting a similar report with another news presenter (Peter Albrecht) for it (note #2: it had her saying, "Welcome back to News 5, if you haven't all-ready noticed, our WKRG team members are wearing red clothing and Children's of Alabama lapel pins to help raise awareness for children born with congenital heart defects" before having the other presenter saying, "A lot of people don't realize that heart defects are the most common type of birth defect, and most of those kids are treated in our area at Children's of Alabama, which is located in Birmingham--Devon, you've worked up there for a number of years and I'm sure you're very familiar with their facility" immediately afterwards before having her saying, "Oh, absolutely, it's the only free-standing pediatric cardiology clinic so so many children in our area go up to Birmingham to be treated" and the other one saying, "Thanks so much for watching, everyone. 'The CBS Evening News' is next" immediately afterwards near the end of it).
