News for Friday, March 9th, 2018

  • Some Internet video streams for WKRG-TV and WALA-TV related to an Internet video service named Livestream usually appeared to have had ways for posting messages beside them in recent times. 
  • A local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the second half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the eighth day of this March ("Gulf Coast Today") appeared to have had one of its hosts (Terra Reeves) mentioning a nickname for one of the radio stations in the local broadcast area for WPMI-TV while referencing a certain studio for an interview with a certain person (named Cale Dodds).  
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the seventh day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had audio of its news presenters (Lenise Ligon and Shelby Myers*) and one of its reporters (a news reporter named Devan Coffaro) discussing a certain part of a lawsuit involving their broadcast operation (note: it appeared to have had some digital graphics involving text of "POLICE BODY CAMERA HEARING" and "FOX 10'S SUIT AGAINST THE CITY OF MOBILE" while having this discussion). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the sixth day of this March ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to have had its news presenter (Devon Walsh) saying, "In today's consumer alert: everything is not awesome at Lego --" for a report related to what she appeared to had been saying (note: this was the rest of the report: "--sales are down for the first time in thirteen years. The Danish company said today that annual revenue dropped eight percent last year; that ended Lego's long streak of rapid growth. Lego sales had quadrupled since two thousand seven, powered by the success of its Star Wars products and the Lego movie. One toy analyst said it grew so quickly the company inevitably had to hit a wall".)
  • Some of the local news programs WKRG-TV had on their main broadcast channel on the Tuesday of the sixth day of this March appeared to have had some news presenters of theirs (including Devon Walsh for "WKRG News 5 at Noon" during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. for that day and Rose Ann Haven for "WKRG News 5 at 6:30" during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. for that day) saying, "We are heartbroken" for some reports of theirs whereas at least one of the local news programs WALA-TV had on their main broadcast channel that day appeared to have had at least one of their own news presenters (Lenise Ligon for "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." during the first and second halves of the hour of 5:00 p.m. for that day) saying, "A sad story" for at least one report similar to the ones the other news presenters appeared to had been presenting.**
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the third day of this March ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had these discussions between its news presenter (Chad Petri***) and one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Robby Baker) for a part of it related to sports: Chad Petri: "Robby, I know that a lot of people don't really care about this, but the Albany Great--my Albany Great Danes were--" Robby Baker: "Oh we care in the office. We were watching it, man. We were glued to it." Chad Petri: "--man, eliminated tonight, but Auburn not eliminated -- they're doing pretty well." --------- Chad Petri: "And also red hot Deontay Wilder out of Alabama, the, um -- the big boxing match I--I understand that we have a fight tonight, but Rose Ann Haven's got to stop texting me right now, because she's--" Robby Baker: "She's blowing us up." Chad Petri: "--trying to spoil it for us." Robby Baker: "Oh, come on Rose Ann, no spoilers. You know how the sports is, Rose Ann -- no spoilers." Chad Petri: "I might text her on the commercial break." Robby Baker: "No spoilers."

(**The program with the news presenter named Devon Walsh appeared to have had her saying, "Welcome back. We are heartbroken to report that a young boy from Brewton [whom] many of you know as William the Warrior has passed away from cancer"; the program with the news presenter named Rose Ann Haven appeared to have had her saying, "We are heartbroken to report a young boy from Brewton who many of you know as William the Warrior has lost his battle with cancer. The three-year-old passed away late last night"; the program with Lenise Ligon appeared to have had her saying, "And a sad story tonight; a local three-year-old battling a rare form of cancer has died" while having some graphics involving text of "WILLIAM THE WARRIOR"****).

 (***the channel usually did not appear to have had him in the role of news presenter for the program while having other installments of it that were part of its programming in that period of time on Saturday prior to the one for the third day of this March in recent times)

(****a World Wide Web site attributed to WKRG-TV and a YouTube channel related to them appeared to have had videos of another news presenter of theirs (Peter Albrecht) presenting a report similar to the ones presented by the news presenters named Devon Walsh and Rose Ann Haven)
