News for Tuesday, March 20th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixteenth day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had its news presenter (Lenise Ligon) introducing a video of a report without any mention of its narrator or whether the narrator and the video itself were part of their news operation or not (note: the report ended with its narrator saying, "In Yountville, I'm Carnell Barnard" near the end of it). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the fourteenth day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Bri MacNaught) saying, "We wish him the best of luck" and, "We wish McCarron the best of luck in Buffalo" immediately after having her presenting some reports related to certain persons involved in the sports of wrestling and football (Justin Ingram and A. J. McCarron respectively).
  • The local news mentioned in the paragraph above this one appeared to have had at three of its segments begin with an animated sequence involving graphics resembling text of "BREAKING NEWS" before appearing to have audio of one of its news presenters (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) presenting a certain report over some video of a certain location separate from them (note #1: the aforementioned segments appeared to had been streamed in an consecutive manner through an Internet video stream that usually appeared to have had local news programming for the station mentioned in that paragraph in recent times (note #2: the reports were similar to each other)).
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifteenth day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had its news presenter (Bob Grip) saying the word "hometown" in reference to a certain grocery store for a report regarding such a store before having one of its reporters (a news reporter named Alexa Knowles) appearing to say, "Unfortunately I was the bearer of bad news at the Winn-Dixie at Schillinger and Cottage Hill as I hold some folks that their favorite grocery store won't be around much longer" before having a video related to what they appeared to had been saying.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 7:00 a.m. on the Sunday of the eighteenth day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 7:00 a.m.") appeared to have had its news presenter (a news reporter for their news operation Devan Coffaro*) saying, "Well we here at FOX 10 -- we respect Mobile police and all law-enforcement officers across our area; it's important that we all take a moment to reach out and say thank you for their service to us each and every day, so we decided to throw a little party for the Mobile police department to celebrate the grand opening of their brand new precinct two location in Tillman's Corner -- check it out in our latest 'FOX 10 Surprise Squad" before having a certain video related to what she appeared to had been saying immediately afterwards. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the first and second halves of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the seventeenth day of this March ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had video of a black image for a period of time less than six seconds before having video of one its reporters (a sports reporter named Robby Baker) saying,  "Ah, looks we unfortunately lost our package there on the Crimson Tide; we will hopefully get that to you guys later" before having audio of its news presenter (Mary Smith) saying, "Robby Baker, thank you, we will hopefully get back to that story later on in their broadcast; we do also have some breaking news tonight -- we'll get to that in just one second -- let us get ahead here in our script -- ah, again, the breaking news the University of South Alabama Health Systems announces its eliminating forty-nine positions, twenty-one of those positions are being cut from the Mitchell Cancer Institute and twenty-eight of those positions are being cut from USA Health" (note: the installment of the program that appeared on the channel on the Sunday of the eighteenth day of this March (during the second half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of 11:00 p.m. for that day) also appeared to have had a black image for a period of time less than six seconds while having audio of the reporter presenting a report related to sports before appearing to have had video of his saying, "Unfortunately we don't have the highlights there" immediately after presenting that report).**
(*the channel usually did not have her in the role of news presenter for installments of the program that were part of its programming in this period of time on Sunday before then in recent times (it usually had a different news reporter of theirs named in the role of news presenter for such installments; specifically a certain reporter named Asha Staples)).

 (**the channel was usually set to have a local news program named "WKRG News 5 at 10" during the first thirty-five minutes of the hour of 10:00 p.m. before having other types of programming afterwards on a daily basis in recent times (as for what it had it had in place of it for some of the first half of the hour on the aforementioned Saturday and the entirety of the first half of the hour for the aforementioned Sunday, it had network programming from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)).
