WALA-TV and WKRG-TV had special news programming about an arrest in the investigation of the death of a resident of Prichard, Alabama (northwest of Mobile) named Hiawayi Robinson take precedence over regular programming for their respective main broadcast channels today between 12:35 p.m. and 1:06 p.m. (WALA-TV's special news programming was broadcast over two separate time periods: from 12:37 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. and from 12:45 p.m. to 1:06 p.m respectively. As for WKRG-TV, their special news programming was broadcast continuously from 12:36 p.m. until 1:01 p.m.)
The news presenters for WALA-TV's special news programming between 12:35 p.m. and 1:06 p.m. today (Steve Alexander Ozenovich and Candace Murphy) were usually news reporters for their news operation by then who were usually news presenters when none of the regular news presenters for their local news programming were available (Steve Alexander Ozenovich was the only news presenter for their first broadcast of special news programming).
WKRG-TV's live video stream had a live untreated video feed of the news reporter for their special news programming between 12:35 p.m. and 1:06 p.m. in which the news presenter for the special news programming was not audible for listeners of the stream (the name of the reporter was Chad Petri; the name of the presenter was Devon Walsh).
