- WKRG-TV was broadcasting a paid commercial program (or infomercial) while other TV stations affiliated with the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) were broadcasting today's edition of the system's evening news program ("The CBS Evening News").
- Between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. today, WALA-TV occasionally had special local programming about the 50th anniversary of a march that took place in Selma, Alabama on today's date in the year 1965 (the march concerned civil rights) break into their regular network programming before having more continuous programming about it with occasional breaks for local commercial and promotional advertisements between 11:00 a.m. and 3:03 p.m. (the special programming included live news reports and interviews from Selma, live interviews with guests on the set of their local entertainment and lifestyle program ("Studio 10"), and video of a ceremony in Selma in which the anniversary was being commemorated live).
