News for Wednesday, March 11th, 2015
- Between 1:00 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. today, WALA-TV, WPMI-TV, WEAR-TV, and WKRG-TV occasionally had their main broadcast channels' regular programing plans pre-empted with special programming about various live news conferences concerning a helicopter that had crashed in Santa Rosa Sound near Florida within their broadcast area.
- One of the news presenters for WALA-TV's local morning news program said "bye bye" at the end of today's edition of it with less enthusiasm than the way she usually said it at the ends of previous editions of it (the name of the news presenter was Sarah Wall; the name of the program was "FOX 10 News in the Morning") since she and the other regular news presenter for the program (Eric Reynolds) were talking about the helicopter that had crashed in Santa Rosa Sound.
- The voice of the regular weather reporter for WKRG-TV's local morning
news program and local midday news programs (the name of the weather
reporter was John Nodar; the names of the programs were "WKRG News 5 This Morning" and "WKRG News 5 at Noon") was lower in tone than usual
on today's edition of the morning news program (he had apologized for the tone of his voice being lower than usual on the morning news program and said he thought he
would be able to speak better for it while on today's edition
of it).
- The same weather reporter was replaced for today's edition of WKRG-TV's local midday news program by the regular weather reporter for Monday through Friday editions of WKRG-TV's local 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. news programs (the name of the other weather reporter was Alan Sealls; the names of the other local news programs were "WKRG News 5 at 5", "WKRG News 5 at 6", and "WKRG News 5 at 10")
