News for Friday, May 6th, 2016

• WPMI-TV had a report with a person with an identity that was usually kept out of the news programming they had concerning an incident in which he had been hit by a bullet this past April (he was said to have been an "undercover officer" for the department of police for the city of Mobile; as for whether his identity was still being protected for this report or not, it was still being protected).

• One of the news presenters for the local news operation for WPMI-TV (Darwin Singleton) used their local news program for the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. ("Local 15 Today") to promote plans by a company connected to them (Ring of Honor Wrestling Entertainment)* to hold a wrestling event called "Global Wars 2016" this Sunday on the eighth day of this May (he also promoted a TV program from the company named "Ring of Honor Wrestling" and the fact it could be watched locally through the main programming feed for WJTC-TV in addition to stating a comment about the plans for the wrestling event immediately after presenting a promotional video for them ("That will keep a chiropractor busy, folks")).  

• A national broadcasting company named Turner Sports (a division of the Turner Broadcasting System, which, by itself, was a division of another company, Time Warner) was set to have special TV programming about a collegiate volleyball tournament expected to occur in the city of Gulf Shores in southwest Alabama this Friday, Saturday (the seventh day of this May), and Sunday (the eighth day of this May) (the programming they would have this Friday and Saturday would be provided through a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service associated with them named TruTV between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. whereas the programming they would have this Sunday would be provided through another cable TV and satellite TV programming service associated with them named TBS (short for Turner Broadcasting System) between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.)
