- WALA-TV and WKRG-TV each had a report with a person with an identity that was usually kept out of the local news programming they had about an incident in which he was hit by a bullet this past April (the person was said to have been a "undercover officer" for the department of police for the city of Mobile; as for whether WALA-TV and WKRG-TV still had his identity protected in their programming about him or not, it was still being protected).*
- One of the news presenters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Candace Murphy) used part of their local news program for Saturday and Sunday mornings ("FOX 10 News in the Morning") this Saturday to encourage members of their audience to send images of their mothers and the names of their mothers to her electronic mail address so that she or another member of WALA-TV could give "shout-outs" to the mothers on the program this Sunday in honor of it having been designated Mother's Day in the United States.
- One of the news presenters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Chad Petri) did not say "hitting the post"
in reference to an expression commonly used in radio broadcasting at
the end of the edition of their local news program for Saturday mornings
("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Saturday")
for this Saturday like the one for last Saturday on the thirtieth and
final day of this past April or the edition of the local news program
for Sunday mornings ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday") last Sunday on the first day of this May.
(*a report about another TV station in southwest Alabama having a report with the same person was posted here this past Friday on the sixth day of this May)
