News for Monday, May 16th, 2016
- The founder of a school of dance in Mobile (Mary Lou Noletto
of Sheffield School of the Dance) was not called by only her last name
in a live news report about her and a former student of the school (Melanie Petithory) that was part of a local news program for WPMI-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. ("Local 15 Today")
this Monday (the founder was usually called by both her first name and
middle name after initially being called by her full name whereas the
former student was called by only her last name and by only her first
name at separate points after initially being called by both names.
- The news presenter and news reporter for WKRG-TV mentioned at the
beginning of the first paragraph of this report incorrectly said their
local news program for the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. was being
simulcast with their companion station (WFNA-TV) while part of the
program last Friday on the thirteenth day of this May (he said it a few
seconds after presenting a report in which the companion station was mentioned; as for the way he said it, he said it this way: "If I'm not
mistaken, I think we're simulcasting - are we simulcasting - this
broadcast in the morning on the CW (part of the brand name for WFNA-TV:
CW55), so if you're watching on the CW, thanks for doing that".
