News for Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV recently had an advertisement for a new
local TV program set to be part of its programming on a weekly basis beginning next Friday on the thirteenth day of this May (the name of the
program was "The Point"; as for when they would have it in their programming that Friday, that would be between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.).
- Throughout this past April and the first few days of this May, the guides to the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV from Zap2it, TitanTV, TV Guide, and Comcast had the name of a national TV program from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) listed for a calendar day in which it was not set to be part of its programming throughout that April and the first day of this May (the name of the program was "The CBS Morning News"; as for the calendar day, it was Sunday).
- Some of the news presenters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV had used some of the local news programming they had this past Sunday night on the first day of this May and this past Monday to make announcements about the operation becoming the "official radio news partner" for a radio station in their local broadcast area specialized in news and discussion programming named WAVH-FM that Monday (this is how one of the announcements was made that Monday (at least the one for their local 10:00 p.m. news program: "WKRG News 5 at 10"): "And here's news for all of you who listen to talk radio here on the gulf coast. News 5 (brand name for WKRG-TV) is proud to be the official radio news partner for FM Talk 106-5 (brand name for WAVH-FM). We'll be providing updates throughout the day for listeners who tune in at home and in the car. We'll also be there with the latest news from the field and provide insights into our investigations, polls, and exclusive stories. So tune in to FM Talk 106-5 during the day with the latest from the News 5 team. Our reports begin at 6:00 a.m. with 'Mobile Mornings' with Sean Sullivan and Wayne Gardner.
