- According to the official World Wide Web site for the Alabama Broadcasters Association, a new position in reporting weather information for the local news operation at WALA-TV became available earlier this May (WALA-TV usually had four weather reporters for their local news operation before and after that part of May (they were usually the same folks before and after that time).*
- The host of a nationally-syndicated TV program based in Mobile (Danny Lipford of "Today's Homeowner") was part of a regular feature for one of the local news programs at WKRG-TV ("WKRG News 5 for Noon") that was usually about cooking (the name of the feature was "Take 5"; as for what the feature was about this Monday, it was about different ways of preparing for tropical cyclones).*
- One of the local news programs WKRG-TV had in their programming this past Sunday on the twenty-second day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 10:00 p.m.") had a report with one of their news reporters (Joseph Blake ("J. B.") Biunno) saying they were "surprised that national news outlets were yet to report on the shooting of a public official [from Mobile] in South Africa" before saying it was probably due to the shooting occurring on a Sunday or because shootings in South Africa were "just so common" by the time this shooting occurred (the report was mainly about comments about the news on the official Facebook page for WKRG-TV).
