- I was not surprised to hear news presenters on recent editions of some of WKRG-TV's local news programs say that residents of their local broadcast area could watch the championship game of the National Football Conference that would take place this past Sunday (January 18th) "on the FOX Network" rather than "on WALA-TV" or even "on FOX 10" in reference to the local TV station affiliated with the network since other local broadcasters in the past usually avoided referring to other local TV stations by their proper names in order to stay competitive in their positions.
from one of the authors of a former World Wide Web site named Examiner.com, specifically two sections of it that were part of its existence: "Mobile (Alabama) TV Examiner" and "Mobile (Alabama) Radio Examiner" (note: this site could have certain features that could be seen without certain programs blocking them; each period of time mentioned on this site without any indication of the time zone to which it applied was a period of time for the Central time zone of the United States)
