News for Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

• An article about WPMI-TV and WJTC-TV having plans to broadcast live nighttime parades expected to take place in Mobile's downtown area this February as part of Mobile's next Carnival season was posted onto their official World Wide Web sites this past Tuesday, January 13th.  

• WJTC-TV recently had a digital sub-channel added to their broadcast operation (specifically radio frequency channel 45-2/virtual channel 44-2) for the purpose of broadcasting programming from the national TV programming service Grit TV in accordance with the deal their owners had with the owners of Grit TV last October (according to WJTC-TV, the sub-channel was added to their broadcast operation on the Monday of last December 29th). 

• The news presenter for WKRG-TV who described a picture with a caricature of the founder of the religion of Islam normally referenced as "the Prophet Muhammad" as simply a picture depicting "a bearded man" on this past Tuesday's edition of their local morning news program ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") used a different description for the same picture on today's edition of their local midday news program ("WKRG News 5 at Noon"): she said it was "a cartoon featuring the Prophet Muhammad".
