• Today's edition of WKRG-TV's local morning news program ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") had a report about the members of their news department who gave away hot chocolate beverages in Mobile's downtown area this past Thursday, January 8th. 

• WEAR-TV had a local news program ("Channel 3 News Dayside") take the place of the special network news programming (about two hostage situations in the nation of France) they had on their main broadcast channel (radio frequency channel 17-1/virtual channel 3-1) today during the program's regular time period (11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.).

• Today's editions of WALA-TV's local morning news program ("FOX 10 News in the Morning") and local entertainment and lifestyle program ("Studio 10") had video of parts of an interview with a resident of Mobile about her time as a contestant on the network TV program "American Idol" during the production of its most recent series of editions (her name was Erica Washington).
