• One of the contestants for the current series (or season) of the national TV program "American Idol" (Erica Washington of Mobile) was part of a cooking segment for today's edition of WALA-TV's local entertainment and lifestyle program ("Studio 10").

• Various reporters and news presenters for WALA-TV, WKRG-TV, and WPMI-TV were reminiscing about an ice storm that occurred in their local broadcast areas back in the year 2014 as part of their local news programming this past Thursday, January 29th, since it was the first anniversary of it.

• Shortly before this past Thursday, the cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile began sending different data about its Music Choices channels to digital transport adapters connected to it (the data normally sent before then included names based on different categories of music for the adapters to display on the channels with music that applied to them; as for the new data, it included names based on the letters "MC" and the channel numbers for the music. For example, it had MC01 for channel 401 and MC50 for channel 450).
