• The cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile started providing programming from WJTC-TV's new digital sub-channel (radio frequency channel 45-2/virtual channel 44-2) to its customers by this past Saturday, January 17th (the channel number for these customers to access the programming through the system was 184).

• According to this past Saturday's edition of WALA-TV's local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.), they would have video of the reinauguration of the governor of Alabama (Robert Bentley) expected to take place next Monday, January 18th, streamed live onto their official World Wide Web site and have video of an interview with the governor expected to take place earlier that day with one of their news presenters streamed and televised later that day as part of their local 9:00 p.m. news program (the news presenter expected to conduct the interview was Bob Grip).
