- The names of some TV stations in the TV market for the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama appeared in a list (under the words "Phase Assignment") on the official World Wide Web site for the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC) stated to be those of TV stations set to be getting new radio frequency channels (RF channels) as a result of an auction officiated by the commission pertaining to spectrum this past March.*
- One of the news presenters for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this Friday (Bob Grip of "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") had used part of the program to mention that a member of the local news operation who usually presented news with him in recent times (Lenise Ligon**) was set to throw the "first pitch" of a baseball game expected to occur in the city of Mobile this Friday while introducing a weather report from the stadium where the game was expected to occur (Hank Aaron Stadium).
