News for Wednesday, April 5th, 2017

• WALA-TV had some special news programming temporarily take precedence over one of their own TV programs this Wednesday (the name of that program was "Studio 10").   

• One of the official World Wide Web sites for the University of South Alabama in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama had video of a person identified as a producer for WKRG-TV talking about what she said were the reasons for two of their local news programs being broadcast entirely from the campus of the university this past Tuesday on the fourth day of this April.

• One of the breaks for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Wednesday ("Local 15 Today") was proceeded by an announcement claiming one of the other local news programs for the channel ("Local 15 News at 10 p.m.") was declared the best news program (or "newscast", as the announcer called it) in the state of Alabama by the Alabama Broadcasters Association while video of a trophy with the name of the news program ("Local 15 News at 10 [p.m.]") and the phrases "Alabama Broadcasters Association Best in Broadcasting 2017" and "Regularly Scheduled Newscast" appeared as part of its broadcast for this Wednesday (this announcement seemed to ignore the fact the program was only declared the best among TV news program in the entire state of Alabama whereas three other news programs were declared the best among radio news programs within certain areas (or "markets") of Alabama during the previous calendar year (2016)).
