News for Saturday, July 7th, 2018

  • A certain Facebook page related to WALA-TV appeared to had been used by its administration to post an article and a video related to WALA-TV and a certain entity named Volunteers of America Southeast on the Friday of the sixth day of this July. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of the second day of this July appeared to have had one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Matt Barrentine) saying, "Generally what happens is we always [get] rain on the fourth of July. We always get rain" for a report related to weather. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Friday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom) saying, "And tune in Sunday night for Robby Baker and 'WKRG Sports Overtime'. Robby, a fish out of water...when he took a recent fishing trip aboard the Just Cuz with Captain Albert Stinson. He, Jason Carter, and friends had a very nice day reeling in the snapper. It's all fishing Sunday night on 'WKRG Sports Overtime'", one of its news presenters (Mel Showers) saying, "Ah ha ha, that should be fun -- fun watching" immediately afterwards, the reporter saying, "I hope they cook some of those fish on Sports Overtime, too" immediately afterwards, and the news presenter saying, "Ah ha ha, thank you, Randy. More in just a moment." immediately afterwards.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had a report involving words such as "horrible" and "worse" (in phrases such as "Just last week, their mom was getting ready to feed the cat when she found a horrible scene", "This was just one of several attacks neighbors have reported by a trio of dogs spotted multiple times in midtown" and, "The dogs have been caught on surveillance cameras and they'd found the remains of their pets. Now neighbors are working together to prevent this from happening to others' pets, or worse, someone's child" (note: the last part of the program (after its last break from appearing on the channel in the aforementioned period of time this Saturday) appeared to had consisted of only a certain animated sequence related to a certain company related to them due to their having been part of the company itself in recent times (the Nexstar Media Group)).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Friday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven) saying, "Welcome back, everyone. Continuing coverage on a story we told you about yesterday at six o'clock. A woman has confessed to the hot-car death of her dog in north Alabama. Thirty-four-year-old Stephanie Thomas left her dog in a Trussville Walmart parking lot for seven hours on the fourth of July. She faces felony charges for aggravated cruelty to animals. Here's video recorded by Stacey Guthrie: it shows bystanders trying to open the car as temperatures outside topped ninety degrees; the adult dog inside just barely breathing; the owner no where in site. Police did not immediately rescue the dog when they got there; their policy is to try to find the owner first. Several announcements were made inside the Walmart; after no response they broke the window. Water and ice were not enough to save the pooch".
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 6") appeared to have had its news presenter (Jason Carter) saying, "Coming up, a small plane crash on Orange Beach. We'll have more on the miraculous landing and the people who lived to tell about it", and, "Good evening and thanks for joining us. I'm Jason Carter. We start with breaking news out of Orange Beach -- you can call it a miracle, a plane crashes in south--south Baldwin County and everyone on board survives. News 5's Chad Petri brings us this amazing story", a certain video involving a certain reporter (a news reporter named Chad Petri) saying, "People around south Baldwin County say they're happy to hear some amazingly good news" immediately afterwards, and one of its other reporters (the Randy Patrick Setterstrom mentioned in the third paragraph from the top of this report) appearing to wear different ties in in certain separate parts of it related to certain subjects (note #1: one of the ties appeared to had been shaped like a bow (note #2: the news presenter for the program and one of its other reporters (a weather reporter named Thomas Geboy) appeared to had been wearing ties shaped liked bows in the parts of it that appeared on the channel before the part in which the reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom appeared to had been wearing a tie shaped like a bow also (note: #3: a certain Facebook page related to the news presenter appeared to had been used by its administration to upload an image of the news presenter and the reporters each wearing a tie shaped like a bow during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this Saturday))).  
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV between the first and second halves of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sixth day of this July appeared to have its news presenter (Lenise Ligon) saying, "Well guess what's getting a makeover -- you're taking a look at it: the Bankhead Tunnel. The oldie but goody getting a new paint job there. AL-DOT says the colors are going to be quote vibrant -- maybe green -- I don't know, we'll see. The Bankhead opened in nineteen forty-one. It's going to be closed for much of next week from nine at night until four in the morning so workers can start the process.   Can't wait to see what they, uh, what they do with it" and, "Well shark fishing round two kicking off this weekend on the Gulf State Park pier. Let's just call it shark month on the pier. We'll explain"; one of its reporters (the Matt Barrentine mentioned in the second paragraph from the top of this report) saying, "And let's go ahead check out your forecast for this weekend uh [note: it was stressed for a period of time that lasted between one and five seconds] it's a bummer, ha ha ha, we're going to have a good chance of rain, don't worries, not from dawn to dusk. I'll explain straight ahead" immediately before one of its breaks from appearing on the channel in that period of time that day; the news presenter saying, "So if you heard of pickle ball, there are no pickles involved, but the sport is kosher -- in fact, it's growing in popularity, especially on the Eastern Shore. Bri MacNaught has more' and a certain video for a certain report involving phrases such as, "Pickle ball, it's becoming kind of a big dill","But what is this fast-growing sport?", "This odd-named sport is gaining in popularity in our area every day" immediately after that break.
