News for Tuesday, July 24th, 2018
- The beginning of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of the twenty-fourth day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had its news presenter (Byron Day), saying "Hi everybody, I'm Byron Day for FOX News, uh, FOX News ten at ten o'clock" (note: "News 10" was a nickname for the news operation for WALA-TV in years past (note #2: the news presenter was part of the operation during those years)).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the twenty-third
day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had audio
similar to that of a whistle immediately after appearing to have had
one of its news presenters (Shelby Myers*) saying, "Here's a picture of
an alligator near May Day Park on Saturday. The woman who took it
believes it was the same gator" while appearing to have had a certain
video and some digital graphics with texts of "GATOR" 'DANGER TO PUBLIC'
" and "EUTHANIZED / NEAR MAY DAY PARK" (*the channel usually did not appear to have had her as a news presenter for other installments of it that were part of its programming in this period of time from Monday through Friday before then in recent
times).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of
the fifteenth day of the month of June for this calendar year ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had audio of one of its
news presenters (Mel Showers) saying, "Neighbors react to the senseless
violence" (as in, "Coming up on News 5, a dog is shot and killed by a
stray bullet -- neighbors react to the senseless violence") while
appearing to have had digital graphics with texts of "COMING UP" and
"DOG KILLED BY STRAY BULLET"; and video of the news presenter saying,
"The world's most popular sport. Thanks Randy" immediately appearing to
have had a certain report from a certain reporter for the program that he usually appeared to had been calling "Randy" by then (Randy Patrick Setterstrom).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the twenty-fourth day of this July ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Alan Sealls) saying, "So compared to the weekend, where we hit temperatures of ninety six -- ninety-seven degrees -- today, we were ninety-two; right back in the range of what you'd expect this time of year, but did you feel the lower humidity? That's the question I posted on my Facebook page. Andy Shutt says yes she felt [it], but she needs it much colder. Christy Langford said, 'Much better -- lower humidity', -- and Kathy Carroll Amerson simply said, 'Wonderful' -- one word describes it all" (along with some graphics involving texts of "FACEBOOK POLL", "DID YOU FEEL THE LOWER HUMIDITY", "...we need it much colder", "much better......lower humidity", and "Wonderful").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the twenty-third day of July ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30") appeared to have
had one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Robby Baker)
saying
"Of course we'll have coverage on the CW News at nine and you bet
we'll have coverage on News 5 here at ten o'clock" for one of its
reports (note: WKRG-TV was usually related to a station affiliated with a
national TV programming service named the CW in their local broadcast
area named WFNA-TV by then due their having been part of a holding
company named the Nexstar Media Group by then (note #2: the main
broadcast channel for WKRG-TV
occasionally appeared to have had advertisements regarding some local
news programs involving certain members of their news operation being
part
of the programming feed for the main broadcast channel for WFNA-TV at
9:00
p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for
WALA-TV during the second half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. and the first
half of the hour of 11:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the sixteenth day of the month of June for this calendar year appeared to have had its news presenter (Shelby Myers) saying,
"Love the music, there -- thanks Toi*", and, "So sweet" immediately
after
appearing to have had some some videos of some reports not involving herself (*note #1: the word "Toi" was the forename of one of the reporters
for the program (Toi Thornton) (note #2: the
local news program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 9:00
p.m. on the Sunday of the seventeenth day of that June ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have
the same news
presenter saying, "So sweet" immediately after appearing to have had a
certain other video involving a certain other report not involving her self (in addition to appearing to have had her saying, "And talk about some
determined young
champions -- the girls will head on down to Viera, Florida at the end of
July and we wish them the best of luck" immediately after appearing to
have had another video involving another report not involving her self))).
