News for Tuesday, July 17th, 2018
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the sixteenth day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared
to have had one of its reporters (a news reporter named Byron Day) saying, "When was the last time you saw a rooster tail behind an S-U-V in the middle of town?" for one of its reports.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Sunday of
the fifteenth day of this July ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have
had a certain video with a report involving phrases such as, "Alabama is a predominately red state"
without any explanation regarding the "red state" part of it (note: the video appeared to have had some digital graphics with texts of "PRIMARY
RUNOFFS ON TUESDAY" and "TWO MAJOR SEATS TO VOTE ON" along with some graphics resembling text of "YOUR LOCAL
ELECTION HEADQUARTERS").
- A certain TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that
appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of
9:00 a.m. this Tuesday ("Studio 10") appeared to have had one of its hosts (Chasity Byrd) saying this around a certain guest of hers:
"You might have seen Carly -- of course doing traffic reports on FOX 10
-- what you don't see is, her, uh, stacking shows and getting shows
read--getting shows ready for FOX 10 -- she's a producer for FOX 10 as
well, so she does a lot of things behind the scenes--" (note: the
broadcast operation for WALA-TV was usually called "FOX 10" in other installments of the program that appeared on the channel before this Tuesday in recent times).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for
WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of
5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Tuesday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning")
appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Bill Riales)
saying,
"If you're just joining us, uh, just a couple of minutes ago we had, uh,
what we'd like to call an an off-air moment. We were still streaming,
but our signal was lost; we were off the air for a short time. If you've
come back to us, we appreciate it, and we're back on the air now,
obviously" (note: the channel appeared to have had only a black picture with
digital
graphics for the program (including a ticker and a logo related to
WKRG-TV) for several minutes before appearing appearing to have had only either a black picture or some advertisements for
several more minutes before then whereas a certain video stream that
usually appeared to have had the program and other programs for the news
operation at WKRG-TV in recent times appeared to
have had a certain animated sequence related to it, a certain video
involving a ship and some disembodied voices being used to say, "[first
voice] What the
commercial suggested", "[second voice] Yeah, well", "[first voice] It
is", and, "[second voice] Same thing, I
mean the Elliot/Northcutt thing is the same company..." in that order
before appearing to have had the beginning of another part of the
program immediately
afterwards beginning with the same animated sequence and both of the
news
presenters for the program (note: the name of the other news presenter
for the program was Jessica Taloney).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for
WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the sixteenth day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared
to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Well think
about this the next time you might toss a letter out of a car window out
on a state highway, just go ahead and toss a couple of twenties out of
the window too; that's because it's tax payer money used to clean up
the mess on state roads; last year alone, the Alabama Department of
Transportation spent six point eight million dollars to do so; closer to
home, AL-DOT spent two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to clean up
litter in Baldwin County, and in two thousand seventeen, five hundred and
sixty thousand in Mobile County. AL-DOT says that's money that can go
to surfacing projects or other maintenance costs instead" (note #1: the
local news program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 5:00
p.m. that day ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to had one of its reporters (a news reporter named Kati Weis) presenting a similar report
and both of the news presenters for the program mentioned earlier in this paragraph discussing some of its subjects (note #2: the name of the other news presenter for those programs was Lenise Ligon (note #3: the local news program mentioned in the paragraph below this one appeared to have had a different news presenter
presenting a report similar to the ones mentioned in this paragraph))).
- The
local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the sixteenth day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared
to have had one of its news presenters (Bob Grip)
saying, "Think of
this: did you know that every time you litter on state highways you are
pretty much wasting your own money? Last year alone, the Alabama
Department of
Transportation spent six point eight million taxpayer dollars to clean
up trash on roadways across Alabama. In Baldwin County AL-DOT spent two
hundred fifty thousand dollars last year just to pick up litter; [in]
Mobile County, AL-DOT spent more than a half million dollars; now AL-DOT
says if litter never existed in the first place all that money can go
to things like resurfacing projects, paving roads, and other important
maintenance costs. Now some local tax payers are hoping the litter bugs
will stop wasting their hard earned money" and, "Here's a couple of tips to prevent littering: keep a trash bag in your
car; if you're hauling something, make sure you keep everything in your
trailer secure so that nothing flies off while you're driving" around a certain piece of video that appeared to have had a certain other being saying, "Think before they litter, because it's costing the--the state too much money
to invest in the litter project -- that they need to consider that their money
can be utilized in other areas" immediately afterwards (note #1: the program appeared to have had some videos involving digital graphics and texts of "LITTER
COSTING MILLIONS" and "TAX DOLLARS SPENT ON CLEAN-UP" for much of the statements attributed to the news presenter mentioned earlier and some digital graphics and texts "ROQUANDA BOWIE" and "ALABAMA
TAXPAYER" while appearing to have had the video involving the other being (note #2: the video involving the being described as "the other being" appeared to had been part of the local news program mentioned in the paragraph above this one)).
