- I wish the sports presenters in recent editions of WKRG-TV, WALA-TV, and WPMI-TV's local news programs had not used the phrase "kicked off the team" in reference to a person being removed from the football team for the University of Alabama recently. If I were either one of those sports presenters, I would have simply said the person was removed from the team rather than say he was kicked off the team; it would have been more professional and clear and not perceived as either offensive, cliched, or vague to many listeners of their respective stations' local news programs.
from one of the authors of a former World Wide Web site named Examiner.com, specifically two sections of it that were part of its existence: "Mobile (Alabama) TV Examiner" and "Mobile (Alabama) Radio Examiner" (note: this site could have certain features that could be seen without certain programs blocking them; each period of time mentioned on this site without any indication of the time zone to which it applied was a period of time for the Central time zone of the United States)
