• Some of the news presenters for WPMI-TV's local news department had been using their local news programming for this calendar week to constantly promote a plan by their company to host a public discussion at the Alabama School of Math and Science in Mobile next Thursday, May 7th.

• Some of the aforementioned news presenters had also been using their local news programming to promote their official World Wide Web site's link to a section of the site MyJobsDirect on a constant basis this calendar week (they usually referred to it as "Local 15 My Jobs").

• According to WKRG-TV, the decision to have their local morning news program for the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. for Monday through Friday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") broadcast through both their main broadcast channel and the main broadcast channel for their companion station* (WFNA-TV) on a regular basis beginning with the edition broadcast on the Monday of April 20th was a permanent one since the program that usually appeared on the channel for the companion station between those hours from Monday through Friday had been cancelled on the Friday of April 17th (the name of this other program was "The Daily Buzz").
