News for Sunday, April 5th, 2015
- WALA-TV was set to have a local public affairs program titled "Rise and Shine" appear on their broadcast channel (radio frequency channel 9-1/virtual channel 10-1) between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. today instead of a paid commercial program (the channel usually had the public affairs program between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on a weekly basis before then).
- WEAR-TV had a local 5:00 p.m. news program ("Channel 3 News at Five") take precedence over a network news program ("World News Tonight") from their main provider of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) on their main broadcast channel (radio frequency channel 18-1/virtual channel 3-1) today between 5:30 p.m. and 5:41 p.m. due to some of the provider's basketball programming for that day causing the local news program to begin a few minutes after its regular start time (5:00 p.m.).
- WKRG-TV had the second half of a new edition of a network news program titled "Face the Nation" appear on their their main broadcast channel (radio frequency channel
47-1/virtual channel 5-1) without delay for the first time since the
year 2012 today between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (the channel usually
had either paid commercial programming or other network programming from the main provider of WKRG-TV's network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) during that time period on Sunday before then; as for when the channel usually had the second halves of the news program before then; it usually had them on Monday between 2:05 a.m. and 2:35 a.m.)
