News for Saturday, April 25th, 2015
- According to an article on the World Wide Web site for the Radio Television Digital News Association dated this past April 23rd, WALA-TV was honored with a regional award named after a former news broadcaster named Edward Roscoe Murrow for a report they had in their local news programming last November titled "Unsung: Charles Graham".
- This past Friday's edition of WALA-TV's local entertainment and lifestyle program ("Studio 10") and local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") on April 24th had a segment
in which some employees of WALA-TV were holding their own version of a
type of competition normally held near the Flora-Bama Lounge, Package,
& Oyster Bar in Perdido Key, Florida during the last weekend of
April (the competition was usually called the Interstate Mullet Toss).
- WALA-TV had the usual broadcast time for Saturday editions of their
local 9:00 news program extended for this Saturday's edition of it due to news about some unaccounted boaters in Mobile Bay and members of the Coast Guard of the United States searching for them
(the program was usually
broadcast from 9:01 p.m. until no later than 9:30 p.m. on Saturday; as
for its broadcast for this Saturday; it was broadcast from 9:00 p.m.
until 10:23 p.m.; had it not been broadcast longer than usual this
Saturday, they would have had two syndicated episodes of a comedic TV program
titled "Seinfeld" in their programming between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. in accordance with their regular programming plan for
Saturday).
