- WALA-TV had technical problems in their broadcast of a new edition of a local weekly public affairs program of theirs titled "Rise & Shine" today between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. (the video for the edition froze for a few minutes at one point before being rebroadcast until it was interrupted by another program normally broadcast by WALA-TV on a weekly basis at 6:30 a.m. (a local religious program titled "Luke 4:18 Fellowship")).
- WKRG-TV had a live news conference about a mission by members of the Coast Guard
of the United States to rescue boaters from the waters of Mobile Bay take precedence over paid
commercial programming on their main broadcast channel (radio frequency channel 47-1/virtual channel 5-1) today between 10:57
a.m. and 11:15 a.m. (their broadcast of the news conference was presented by their technological news
reporter named Joseph (J. B.) Biunno).
- WPMI-TV and WEAR-TV recently had televised video advertisements about their respective World Wide Web sites having links to pages where residents of their local broadcast areas could search for new jobs or post advertisements
about new jobs for other residents in those areas (both advertisements had a regular news presenter for Monday through Friday editions of their respective stations' local evening news programs; Greg Peterson for the ones produced by WPMI-TV and Bob Solarski for the ones produced by WEAR-TV).*
