• Video recordings of news presenters for WPMI-TV's local news programming giving news presentations less than a minute in length were uploaded onto the official Facebook page for WPMI-TV on a regular basis recently under the name "FacebookQuickcasts".

• The cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile had this message appear on its leased-access cable TV channel (channel 6; also known as "Port City 6"): "Due to technical issues, this channel is temporarily off-the-air. Thank You for your Patience".

• WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV each had a special news program with live video of a news conference about a mission by members of the Coast Guard of the United States to rescue boaters from the waters of Mobile Bay take precedence over a syndicated entertainment program on their main broadcast channel today between 4:04 p.m and 4:18 p.m. (the name of the entertainment program that was on the channel for WKRG-TV was "The Big Bang Theory"; the name of the one that was on the channel for WPMI-TV was "Judge Judy").
